About Nested Yellow

Nested Yellow is a fine jewelry atelier rooted in intention, proportion, and the belief that what we wear can carry meaning forward.

Founded by designer Anna Vásquez, the studio creates custom and small-batch jewelry shaped slowly, by hand — pieces designed to be worn daily and inherited over time. Each work begins not with trend, but with presence: careful listening, thoughtful design, and a respect for materials that endure.

A Practice of Design

Before jewelry, Anna trained as an architect, learning how spaces are shaped not just by form, but by how people move, gather, and feel within them. That way of thinking continues to guide the work at Nested Yellow.

Jewelry here is treated as an object of use and memory — considered in weight, balance, and proportion, and refined through drawing, modeling, and making. The process is unhurried. Decisions are deliberate.

Gold is recycled. Stones are selected with care. The hand is always visible.

The Custom Design Ceremony

Custom work at Nested Yellow begins with a Design Ceremony — a private, collaborative session where each piece is envisioned before it is made.

Through conversation, sketching, and exploration of materials, the design takes shape slowly, allowing space for clarity and refinement. This ceremony establishes the foundation for a piece that feels personal, grounded, and enduring.

It is not about speed. It is about beginning well.

The Atelier

The Nested Yellow atelier is located in Portland’s historic West End — a quiet, light-filled space where ideas are drawn by hand and refined with care. Clients are welcomed into the studio to take part in the process, to see their designs unfold, and to experience the making as something shared.

An Enduring Approach

Nested Yellow exists outside of seasonal cycles and passing trends. The work is guided instead by materials, craft, and the belief that jewelry gains meaning through time and wear.

Each piece leaves the studio with the hope that it will live many lives — held, marked, and remembered.
